For the 9th consecutive year, Lavipharm employees, sponsored by the company, run for a cause at the 35th Athens Marathon the Authentic that took place on Sunday, November 12th. A human river with more than 51,000 participants from all over Greece and 105 countries around the world, flooded once again the streets of Attica. Under the Athenian sun, powered by positive energy, they challenged themselves on the 42.195m race of the Authentic Marathon, as well as on the 5 km and 10 km races.
This year again, Lavipharm’s sponsorship supported the causes of MDA Hellas, the Association for the Care of those afflicted with Neuromuscular Diseases. All proceeds will be allocated to the creation of a care unit dedicated to adults with muscular dystrophy hosted within a state hospital in Athens. Lavipharm’s MDA Runners became part of a team comprised by more than 500 more, all of them carrying loudly a common message, “It does not matter how you’re running … but why!”
The Athens Marathon, the Authentic, is an international sports event that bridges the legend with history and highlights the power of human will and empowerment.
