Dr. Athanase Lavidas
Executive Chairman


Born in Athens, Dr. Athanase Lavidas took helm of the family business in 1976 and he is today Executive Chairman of Lavipharm Group. He is actively involved in a variety of professional organizations where he holds key positions; he is Chairman of the Greece-United States Business Council and board member of many bilateral councils, whose mission is to strengthen the business ties between Greece and the respective countries. He is also Chairman Emeritus of the Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association (E.EN.E.). He has been a Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Federation of Entreprises (SEV) for more 12 years, chargé for International Affairs. In 2011, he was awarded the Chevalier insignia in the French National Order of the Legion d’ Honneur by the French government as a recognition of his contribution to the promotion of the dialogue and cooperation between the two countries. Dr. Lavidas has also served as a Director of the Board of Ariad Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company based in Boston and listed on Nasdaq. Moreover, he is an Honorary 49er of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organisation), Intercontinental Chapter. He holds a B.Sc. in Organic Chemistry and a M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from the Ludwig Maximillan University, Munich, a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Athens and a MBA of the Institut Supérieur de Marketing et de Management in Paris (MBA).


Spyridon Fotinos
Hon. Chief Scientific Officer


Born in Athens, he holds a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from the University of Athens and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Thessalonica. He started his career as Planning & Projects Manager with MINERVA Pharmaceuticals. He joined Lavipharm in 1979 as Plant and Technical Director and set up the production unit for pharmaceutical & cosmetic Products. In 1987 he set up the Research & Development Department. He is currently the Executive Vice President for Corporate Research & Innovation.


Anthony Vogiatzis
Group General Manager


Anthony Vogiatzis first joined Lavipharm in 1984 as Marketing and Sales Director and in 1992 was promoted to General Manager of Synthelabo Lavipharm, the joint venture in Greece between the two companies. In 1999, following the global merger between Sanofi and Synthelabo, he was General Manager of the new company in Greece, while in 2004 he continued his career in France with Sanofi as Vice President Middle East and Central Asia countries. He was Vice President, Operational Excellence and Innovation before returning to Greece in 2013 to join again Lavipharm as Chief Commercial Officer. In 2017, he assumed the responsibility of Group General Manager.Anthony is a Pharmacist, he holds a degree in Advanced Marketing and he has completed the General Management program in INSEAD, France. He has wide international experience on General Management, having lived and worked in Europe. He specializes on strategic planning, human resources and capital improvement. He speaks English, French, Greek and Italian.


Spiros Magliveras
Group CFO


Born in Athens, he holds a degree in Economics from the University of Athens, an MSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of London, UK and an MBA from the University of Indianapolis, USA. He has extensive experience in large Greek and multinational companies, such as Papaellinas Group, the ESHA Hellas, the Technical Olympic Group, the Boutari Group, and last in Halyvourgiki SA, where he held the position of Finance Director.
